There are several useful supplementary exercises to improve yoga postures and movements. Push-ups are arguably one of the most effective exercises.
In order to perform sun salutations smoothly, the strength of the arms and shoulders, and also core to hold the position is required, which is developed through push-ups. These elements are also required in arm balancing postures. The muscular strength, endurance and determination not to give up easily, developed by push-ups, will enable you to hold even the toughest postures for longer. They are also an essential exercise for Ashtanga Yoga, which is a more intense sequence.
Push-ups could be a challenging exercise for women, but all students who follow my instructions faithfully are able to do push-ups correctly. How to guide students to the correct form with advices, how to create sequences to develop their ability and how to unleash their potential is a great pleasure for those who teach something, and when students achieves something, It’s a joy to see students achieve something challenging, as if it were my own.
